The trouble with New York is there are so many hotels about that its so difficult to choose from. Some are similar but then do you want a hotel that has the same things as all the others or do you want something abit different from everything? On my first visit to NYC I went with a package deal and we stayed in a 3star Bedford Hotel which I found to be pretty nice...the room was big and it had everything in the room I needed. But being 3Star it didn't have a restaurant etc. But it was close to all the attractions in NYC so I when leaving NYC I thought I would go back to the Bedford. When we arrived at the hotel, we discovered that we were allocated a smoking room, as there were no non smoking rooms available. We were however advised that we could be moved the next day if we were unsatisfied with our room. We decided to take this option, and all of our belongings were moved to a far superior room, without any inconvenience to us the following day. After a long flight, hostile staff at the airport and a long drive, I finally arrived at this hotel. By the time I entered the Intercontinental, I was suprised. A friendly member of staff cam over and took all my bags for me and put them on a trolly. I went up to the service desk and the staff were also very helpfull. They commented, "Sir, I can see you are tired so we will make this process as quick as possible," which put a nice smile on my face. I arrived at my room which I was paying $280 a night for and I was shocked pleasantly.
