Advantages: Good entertainment, No children, Relatively quiet even when full

Disadvantages: Time share in the hotel, No chips!, Small amount of pestering by locals on beach

The Jack Tar Village is in a purpose-built resort comprising of about 14 hotels. The complex itself is very secure and is patrolled by armed guards at all times.

The grounds very spotlessly clean and you could always see people cleaning and washing surfaces, even late at night!

The room is not as nice as some other Carribean hotels but is still kept spotless and has all the amenities you might require. I would definitely recommend the upgrade to the superior rooms as you get a lot of extras for relatively little extra cost.

The food is generally very good, varied and you have a choice of four different restaurants to choose from. The snack bar at the beach leaves a lot to be desired. The A la catre restaurants were particularly impresive with excellent cuts of meat complements by fine sauces. The Italian restaurant in particular is very impresive with stunning decor and excellent service. Be sure to dress up!


Overall I would advise anyone to get themselves to this beautiful part of the world, and to stay at the Jack Tar Village. We had a wonderful time!
