Disadvantages: Restaurant looked small for size of hotel

In English a "Jolly" Hotel gives an impression about what it would be like before even looking at the facilities.

The Jolly Hotel Grand Sablon in Brussels, however, is more akin to Grand than Jolly.

This Hotel, which is the flagship of the Italian Jolly Group's fleet, is very nicely appointed.

Situated in the corner of Sablon Place which itself is midway between the Royal Palace and the Palaces of Justice, the hotel is ideally placed for seeing all the sites of this city.

I cannot comment on the restaurant as we did not eat there (apart from a very well laid out buffet breakfast that was included in the price - much more than the normal "continental" breakfast) but the rooms include everything you would expect from a 4* hotel at less than one would expect to pay for a 3*. For the homesick traveller on a long weekend there is even BBC on the TV in the room as well as a selection of the English Broadsheets in the bar/lounge.

We went for a long weekend as a get away from it all break and, without doubt, the quality of the hotel added significantly to our experience.

At £240 per person including flights during the peak Easter pricing time I was very impressed with the value for money.

Just think Grand rather than Jolly!
