Advantages: They can help you with almost anything, they made planning our time in Chiang Mai easy.

Disadvantages: Its a bit of a trek to get in the the centre.

Julie Guesthouse was bar far the best guesthouse we stayed in Thailand. Their service was brilliant right from when we go off the train. A few friends had recommended them to us before we'd left, so when we saw the sign for Julie Guesthouse in the station we headed straight for it. We didn't have too bigger wait when we arrived, and there were plenty comfy seats for us to sit on while we were waiting anyway. We checked into a triple room, it came to just £4 each. We had to wait while they cleaned the room, but they let us leave our bags with them; it didn't take too long to walk in to the centre, although I would recommend getting a taxi if you are a keen shopaholic!

The rooms aren't huge but they are a fair size for what you pay, we had a single and bunk beds and even with three huge bags there was still plenty of room. They have a very nice restaurant in the communal area outside, with good food and good prices, the milkshakes were yummy! The staff were lovely and super helpful if ever there was anything we needed or wanted. The best thing about Julie's was that they could organise numerous trips and activities. They helped us with choosing our trek and advised us which cookery course to do, the man from the cookery course even came and picked us up from Julie's. There is also a massage parlour next door to Julie's, we didn't go but we heard from others that is was very nice and good value. The communal area was brilliant for making friends, there were so many other travellers staying there, it was awesome to just have a beer chang and swap travel tales.

Julie guesthouse was brilliant they were the most helpful and so friendly, they made our time in Chiang Mai perfect!

Summary: Its bar far the best guesthouse in Chiang Mai.
