The Kata Thani Hotel and Beach Resort in Phuket is an excellent hotel. I stayed their last year after 2 days in Bangkok and it was superb holiday. The hotel itself has two parts, one part on the beach and the other across the road, I stayed in the part away form the beach, I did want to book a room on the other part with a sea view but found it was a bit too expensive to justify. It is in a quiet location which is ideal if you want to chill out and relax, you can get a tut tut to the nearby shops and restaurants or walk if you are felling energetic. I cant really fault this hotel, the Thai massages are amazing and are very cheap, for the next to nothing you can get a 30- 1hr massage which would cost you a lot more in other parts of the world.
I booked this about 3 months in advance and cost just under £1000, I only ate breakfast here but this was very nice. I would recommend this for all types of people but with it being a fairly quiet resort may suit honeymooners or couples after a romantic break.

If you are after a quiet nice chilled out holiday then the kata thani is for you!
