Hotel La Legende and Hotel du Congres (La Legende)

Advantages: In the centre of Brussels

Disadvantages: Rooms not wonderful quality

These two hotels both cost about fifty pounds a night for a single room, and are both perfectly acceptable places to stay, although neither of the rooms were nice enough that you'd want to spend lots of time in them, and there weren't any of the frills of a business hotel.

The location of the Hotel La Legende is far better- very close to the train station and the Grande Place. The Hotel du Congres is harder to find and more out of the way. I felt very mildly uncomfortable walking back that by myself late at night from the Grande Place. The rooms at the latter were slightly nicer however- the bathroom at La Legende wasn't the most luxurious I've ever seen.

In both cases you're paying mostly for the central location in the city.
