We visited the Luxor several years ago and it was literally the most amazing place we have ever stayed. It was the first lobby we had been in where one could feel agrophobic. It was vast! It felt weird ascending to our room in the 'inclinator' (a lift that rises at a 45 degree angle).

Our room had a sloping window filling the whole of one side of the room with spectacular views over the city. The linen quality and décor were of a very high standard and had a bed comfortable enough for a pharaoh. We particularly liked the crested dressing gowns.

Watch out for the automatic window washes that patrol the acres of glass that cover the pyramid shaped hotel. Made us jump on more than one occasion !

The virtual rollercoaster is really worth a visit and keeps you clinging on for dear life - even though you are going nowhere and the animated camels in the lobby were really funny. And then there is the massive laser beam shining in the night sky and visible from space!

We found the special offers during the week made the hotel a very reasonable place to stay - in fact we paid only$35 per night. Weekends tended to be more expensive but if you are flexible when you can stay you certainly will pick up a bargain.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
