Live like an Egyptian (Luxor Hotel)

Advantages: Great pools, and restaurants Disadvantages: Pyramid is a little bit dated I stayed at the Luxor in May 08, and had an absolutely fanastic time. When we arrived after a long 11 hour direct flight, there was about a 30 minute queue just to check in, which was the last thing we wanted at the time. Eventually after checking in, and being given our room key and number, it then took us another 20 minutes, to figure out how to use the inclanators (lifts), which we didnt realise we needed to insert our room card into a slot on the inclanator entrance in order to get it to work. The Luxor Hotel is based on the egytian theme, and comprises of 1 pyramid sgaped hotel, and 2 large tower hotels. We stayed in the pyramid, and the room was ok, it was fitted out in keeping with the egyptian theme, but did look a little dated, apparently the towers are newer though. There is a great choice of pools, although one was out of action when we were there due to maintenance. The restuarants are also very good, and if you walk through to the adjoining Mandalay Bay hotel, there are also some very good restaurants. There is soo much to see in Vegas, that a week was not long enough really. Hoping to get back there soon again, its an awesome place. Summary: A decent Hotel, in a great location |
