Well where do I start...the Marco Polo 1 is by far the better hotel to stay in out of the two properties. Having just returned from Ibiza, staying 4 nights in the Marco Polo, I would recommend the property, providing you are not planning on spending much time in the hotel.
I had made the booking via Expedia, and had my confirmation with me, however upon checking in at the hotel was told there was no booking for me (great!). After looking at the list of reservations myself, i found my booking, which was made under my middle name instead of my first name, so the guy give me the key and told me we was in Marco Polo 2, I was seriously not impressed after the bad reviews I had read online, but thought I would go and see myself. Got into the room and oh my god, the door didnt even lock, the bathroom had never been cleaned it still had the last guests soap floating in the bath along with all the dirt they had left. So of course went and complained and got moved to Marco Polo 1.
Im 24, and went to Ibiza basically to get wrecked every night, and wasnt expecting the Ritz, if you are just after someone to lay your head on a night then this hotel will do. The Marco Polo 1 was not half as bad as number 2. We had a lovely view of the pool surrounded by sun loungers and palm trees which was really nice. The room itself was clean, as was the bathroom and bed linen, and we did have a maid in every day who cleaned the room (however me and my boyfriend still managed to get bit by some insect). The reception staff were not very helpful at all, and didnt seem like they wanted to be there.
Location wise the hotel was perfect, and right by the beach and a short walk to the bars in the West End. The hotel was right next door to Eden and Es Paradis.
Our belongings were left in our room, and we never had nothing stolen, and the doors also double locked. We did get woke up the one night we never went out at about 430am by somebody banging and shouting at our door but just ignored it! No phones in the room to ring and complain!
Overall the hotel does its job, and if you just want a room to crash in then its fine. Also has a fridge in the room so that was a bonus. But if you are looking for something a bit more up market, then book elsewhere!
