Advantages: Beautiful rooms, good deals to be had

Disadvantages: Car parking

I have stayed in 2 mariott hotels in the UK, Leeds and Manchester and I will review them both here. I booked them both online so I will also review the website and service here.

Website and Booking
The website is very easy to navigate around and you have the option to type in where you want to stay and the dates you want to stay and it comes up with the availability. All the information will then come up for your stay which you will need to know. There is photo's of the your hotel and the rooms. Booking is also very easy on the website, however it does not accept Visa Electron so we paid when we arrived which was fine at both hotels. Overall I would always choose the option to book online as I find this the most easiest and quickest way.

Leeds Mariott Hotel
I have stayed here with my boyfriend 2 times and each time we have thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed each time for 2 nights. The rooms are modern and tastefully decorated, and the bed is so confy you never want to get out of it! We had breakfast at this hotel on both days and it was delicious. The breakfast resturant can get a little busy but there is always plenty of food available. The food included typical english fry up food, bacon, sausage, eggs, toast etc. And then there was always fruits and cereals etc. Tea and Coffee were available as were juices and water. The breakfasts were delicious on both occasions and if I were to stay here again I would definately have the breakfast. We had no problems in the hotel with noise. The view from the hotel we have had on both occasions was not the best, just a brick wall really! But do not let this out you off the hotel, it is a fabulous hotel. By looking around on the Mariott website you can see upcoming deals that maybe offered, on one occasion we paid £170 for 2 nights, and on another occasion we paid £120 for 2 nights, so it really is worth having a look around. The parking at the hotel is an NCP carpark, a few minutes walk from the hotel, it is multistorey style and is very secure, which you'd hope when you see some of the cars parked there, very nice! However it is expensive but if its keeping your car safe and is close to the hotel then its definately worth it! The hotel is located in good location to the shops and bars just a short 5/10minute walk. Overall we had fantastic stays here, and would definately stay here again!

Manchester Royal Albert and Victoria Mariott Hotel
Me and my boyfriend stayed here in July 2009, as it was my graduation in Manchester on the Monday, we decided to stay for 3 nights as the offer which we found (again on the website) was stay 3 nights pay for 2, which we thought was a good deal, and paid £150 for 3 nights, Fri-Mon. This did not include breakfast so I cannot comment on this. The hotel is in a lovely location by a canal and is very modern. The reception were very friendly, and at this hotel because we both only had a Visa Electron card we had to pay £100 deposit that would be given back to us at the end of the stay. (This was to ensure any room service/TV pay etc). And there was no problems getting out £100 deposit back at the end. We were on the second floor and again had no problems with noise. Out of the 2 mariott hotel rooms I prefer the Manchester one, this is because one of the features in the room was a bare brick wall, which I think looks wonderful and fitted in with the style of the room, it also had wooden beams on the ceiling, this along with the beautiful views of the canal, where you can watch the ducks and boats going by, made this is an excellent place to stay.
The location of the hotel is opposite granada studi's, which is a 10 minute walk away from Manchester Centre. It might also explain why Peter Barlow from coronation street was staying in our hotel! We saw him by the lift!
The only negative I have about this hotel is the parking. There is limited parking on the hotel, around 20 spaces? which come at a high charge, valet parking maybe? But there is a car park right next to the hotel, however when we went to get a ticket for the car and spoke to the security man there, he advised us that there had been cars broken into over the past couple of days, so he advised us to park there in the day and then move the car to directly opposite the hotel at night. This was becuase in the day it was for permit holders but after 6pm it was for anybody. We really would like to thank this man for his help and we ended up saving a lot of money and keeping the car safe! Overall we had a great 3 days at this hotel, topped off by my graduation on the monday!

After both of our stays at these hotels, we would definately consider Mariott hotels for any future hotel stays accross the UK!

Summary: Stayed at 2 Mariott hotels and they have both been excellent!
