A trip to Las Vegas was a dream that came true for my boyfriend's 30th birthday, this was his dream holiday and staying in his dream hotel at the MGM Grand was perfect for him.

We've heard many stories from friends who stayed at the MGM Grand prior to our visit stating that it was absolutely great and a brilliant experience. When we arrived at the hotel in the evening, it was sure busy and the lobby itself was extremely 'grand' and very very big. During our stay, we visited nearly all the other casino hotels and haven't seen a hotel lobby that was as good as the MGM's.

We were put on the 6th floor on the West Wing, although we didn't really have much of a view, but we could see their other hotel 'Signature' which was just as good. The hotel room was very comfortable, so comfy that I wanted to take it home with me - I really loved their pillows and duvet, you can really feel the quality that they have put into their hotel rooms.

The shower was big enough to fit 6 people in, and there was clean towels everyday and new bottles of shampoo, conditioners and body lotion as well. The house-keeping was great, they even folded a towel neatly around our toothbrushes as well...now that is what I call house-keeping. You can tell that they have really taken alot of care in keeping the room spotlessly clean!

Downstairs there's plenty of restaurants to eat and the buffet is marvellous. Not only can you stuff your face with food, but the varieties are just so great and the service was brilliant. Once the waitresses saw an empty plate, they'll clear it up for you and re-fill your drinks when its half full. Now why can't we get that kinda service in the UK - I do wonder!!!

After having your brekkie, you can see their lions sleeping or playing (if you're lucky) which is another great experience a this would probably be the closest encounter with a lion other than your local zoo.

Casino's in all hotels allow smoking and being an ex-smoker it was very hard to resist. The floor's atmosphere does become filled with smoke by the afternoon and you can smell the tobacco heavily. It would be better if it had ventilation to get rid of the smell or even some sort of air freshener.

Overall, this is a great hotel and highly-recommended to anyone who loves an exciting holiday at a destination that never sleeps. I would definitely stay in the MGM Grand again, and bring more $$$ with me - not to gamble, but to shop!!!

Summary: Its grand enough for my likings!!!
