Advantages: plenty of entertainment

Disadvantages: damaged reputation because of a fire

It's been 4 years since I went to Las Vegas, but the memory of it all is still very fresh to me. We stayed at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. Our room had a fantastic view of the New York New York roller coaster and the MGM Grand Hotel. It's proximity to the Las Vegas Boulevard is perfect and all the other hotels are within walking distance.

The hotel and casino itself were fantastic. Outside it has a huge pool area inculding waterfalls, a wave pool with constantly changing wave patterns, and a "Lazy River" feature. Inside the hotel it has a huge mall area including resteraunts, fast food, and shops. It also plays host to magician Lance Burton on a regular basis in a 1,200 seat theatre, and he is still performing there to this day.

Unfortunately, a fire in January 2008 has slightly damaged it's reputation, although by now everything is back to normal.

If I ever do go back to Las Vegas, I will opt for a different hotel though.
