AN AMAZING HOTEL.................... NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!
I have stayed in the Monte Carlo Hotel, almost centrally located on the famous Las Vegas Strip, on two occasions. Both times I have been astounded by the sheer size of it. I remember some years ago when I first booked to go to Las Vegas and someone told me that it would take over an hour to walk down the Strip, I seriously thought that it was a joke.
Las Vegas is one of my favourite places in the World. As a hardened traveller (through pleasure and worl) it takes quite a lot for me to volunteer to return to somewhere as I believe that there are so many other places that the World has to offer. However Las Vegas is definitely one of those 'return to' places.
The Hotel Lobby in the Monte Carlo is huge, the check in and check out areas are breathtaking and that is before you get to the Casino, the Macdonalds and Starbucks inside the Hotel, the lazy river rapids in the hotel grounds, the wave pool with systematically timed wave machine and the extensive number of swimming pools too!!! Each Hotel within Las Vegas has its plus points and I am certain that some have their minus points too. However I can not fault the Monte Carlo at all - despite trying to find something negative to put in the review, there is nothing at all that I can say.
The rooms are all fully air conditioned and the bathrooms are modern with all necessary items in there (well, ours was). The furnishing of the Hotel is pretty standard to all American Hotels I would imagine - it is not 21st Century Modern, neither is it out of date. Approximately 8 months prior to when I visited Monte Carlo last there was a fire in some of the upper floors, however we did not witness any fire damage to the outside of the building and neither was anything evident from inside - one can only assume that the repairs were undertaken quickly to avoid any guest disappointment.
As with all hotels in Vegas the price of rooms hikes up quite significantly at the weekend. I think that the last time we stayed here - we booked directly with the Hotel at (http://www.montecarlo.com/) and I think that the rooms worked out at approximately £50.00 for two people per night. That price most definitely cannot be grumbled at.
The food here is delightful, the portions are enormous, the drinks in the Casino are free-flowing (which is typical of Las Vegas as long as you are gambling then the drinks are being provided) and it truely is a Hotel that doesnt sleep - housed in the city that never sleeps!!
I would say that the only negative point is that it is not central to the Strip - however it is next door to New York, New York and across from MGM Grande and only a few 'doors' down from The Bellagio - so how much more central can you get!!!
It really is a fantastic place to stay - for relaxing and for seeing the sights of Las Vegas - Close to the Airport and close to the shopping, walking distance from a vast range of eateries, shops, bars and nightclubs........... This Hotel really does have everything (and more!) that you could ever want from a Hotel.
Summary: A MUST if you are staying in Vegas, great value for money, A* Hotel
