What can I say about this hotel. Well, when it was booked, I was not sure about it at all. All the pictures on Expedia (where we booked the trip through) made the hotel look very dark and gothic and something that you need to really like to be able to enjoy. I was skeptical to say the least. After arriving in New york City for the first time, we made our way from JFk airport to the hotel via one of the minibus style vans we had booked through Expedia as well. The trip from JFK to the hotel took around 45 minutes, which considering the amount of traffic in NYC, was pretty good going. Two visits to New York in 2008, and we used the same hotel on both occassions. We first booked this hotel via Expedia with our entire holiday package, and for 7 nights stay in mid march we pay just shy of £1k each, including flights and hotel. We got a taxi from the airport directly to our hotel which took around 40 mins. When we reached our hotel, I was already impressed. A large heavy door opens automatically using the disabled button, which the doorman, who had already got our bags and greeted us, walked us through, a large second plate glass window takes you to reception.
