Advantages: Handy for Palma nightlife, direct access to the beach

Disadvantages: Pool a bit small, expensive for drinks and meals

This hotel has the perfect location, just a few minutes bus or taxi ride into Palma but with direct access to a lovely soft sandy beach. The area of Cala Millor where the hotel is is a bit run down but there are a few handy bars, restaurants and small supermarkets close by that are useful. The standard rooms face the road and are quite dark and noisy so the premium payable for a seaview room is definitely worth paying as the balconies have beautiful views of the bay and are much lighter. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the furnishings and decor is in neutral cream and brown shades, the exterior of the hotel is a striking 1930s design and is miles more attractive than the 70s monstrosities built alongside.
The hotel has a small spa although some of the jets in the pool were not working properly and there did not seem to be an attendant. The spa is free to hotel guests although treatments are quite expensive. As are food and drinks in the hotel although the breakfast buffet is extensive and can be taken outside on the terrace which is a lovely way to start the day.
There is an outdoor pool with a bar alongside which serves lunch but the pool is deep and quite small so is really for cooling off rather than proper swimming or playing around in. There are few children staying at the hotel and judging by the pool design I'm sure they are not trying to attract many!
The hotel has two restaurants, the main one on the ground floor and A Popa which is on the lower floor also with a terrace.
The hotel is about a 20-25 minute taxi ride to the airport so is ideal for a short break. The hotel can be booked direct although features on many discount websites so check their prices first.
