The directions to the rooms were clearly laid out and on arrival I placed by card key in the slot and tried to open the door. I must admit that I don't usually have a lot of luck with hotel swipe cards, often finding that they don't work, so am usually a little apprehensive the first time I get to the room. A few weeks ago I had to attend a weeklong meeting in Gothenburg, which was being held at the four star Novotel hotel in the city. **Getting to the Hotel** The hotel is located just outside the main city centre. Gothenburg is a busy shipping port and the hotel is located on the waterfront overlooking the port. On arrival at Gothenburg Landvetter airport we took a taxi direct to the hotel, which took around 40 minutes and cost 500 Kr, roughly Ł50.
