Advantages: Great design, Lovely staff, Very unique

Disadvantages: None

I was looking for a romantic hotel to stay in with my boyfriend in Frankfurt, and one of my searched came up with this hotel in Offenbach. I was not even going to explore the possibility of this hotel as it was further from Frankfurt than I wanted to stay, but I saw a picture of the exterior of the building, being an old slaughter house and was intrigued. After I saw further pictures of the interior of the hotel, all being typically German in minimalist style, with flowing clean lines but still a comfortable feel, I emailed the hotel about rates and asked as we were staying two nights, could they do a good deal? The response was quick and very friendly, and I was amazed when they offered us a double room for around £40 a night, when usually they are around 4 times this amount.

It was clear when we arrived at the hotel that this was because we were one of the only guests staying, as it is quite orientated towards business guests and as we were staying over new years eve not many business men would be in town. Upon arrival I was totally awestruck at the beautiful and imposing dexterous of the building, it was huge!
The reception was again simply, but sophisticatedly designed and the receptionist very helpful. To get to my room, I took a lift to the first floor and then walked down a corridor and across a bridge, walkway which actually was total all in the open, connecting the two buildings together. I loved this touch, it was a great lead up to reaching the room itself! The room was not disappointing again, spacious, again simple in design but with no costs speared, minibar, television, safe all included and a small but elegant bathroom. One slight disappointment was that we had twin beds instead of a double, I had asked for a double room but perhaps had not been specific enough.

We decided to go out at night, and thought we where in for a long walk to actually find somewhere decent, so could not believe our luck, when we discovered this amaz
ing Mexican bar/restaurant right next door, which was one of the most amazing bars I have ever been to! It is huge, and packed with people, serving excellent and well priced cocktails and a huge array of Mexican food. We had an excellent night and just had to stumble back home for a few minutes to the hotel.
The breakfast the next day, included in the price was again totally top class. With a huge buffest for you to house from, hot food, cold foot every pastry on the planet and a juice maker where you could squeeze as much fruit juice as you could manage. The staff where on hand but kept themselves to themselves and did not stand peering over you. To top it all it then begun snowing, and this was the final tip of a totally magical break. I really could not fault the Park plaza Offenbach for a romantic break, as it is 10 minutes from the station, but secluded enough, but with this lively totally unique bar right next door, and a gym also in the hotel.
