Advantages: Sun, Quiet area, Friendly reps

Disadvantages: No local sandy beach, Smallish resort

I just came back from this resort a few days ago, so this is a fresh review. We had sorted this holiday out months in advance and in the end it was just a week that came and went. I didn't know much about Tenerife before I went and i expected it to be like Spain, which it was but better.

Anyway, we were picked up at the airport by a transfer service who took us to the resort. It seemed like a quiet area at first and I suppose it was compared to Las Americas. We arrived in the afternoon and checked in quickley, the place seemed welcoming. The apartment was decent, had everything in it from a TV to an Iron to a Microwave. We had a nice sea view, despite only being on the first floor. Towels, bed sheets and soaps were all provided and we found themn with ease. After that, we walked around the area and the only bad thing was the lack of a sandy beach. There was a nice big pool at Pearly Grey though, which was good enough. My first impression was good, the only problem was that BBC1 wasn't available on the TV, despite the fact that the guide book says it was!

The next day, we met our rep, who was very friendly. He made us feel welcome and told us about the BBQ for that evening, which sounded good. And it was, we were sat with another family, who we had a nice chat with. The food was tasty and the free booze was good too! After that BBQ, there was some entertainment in the bar area, as there was every evening. They had a lot of musical tributes to people like Robbie Williams, The Beetles and Rod Stewart. There was also some comedy nights and kareoke, which was all enjoyable.

The reception service was very good, the receptionist was helpful and we could book excursions and stuff from there, which we did. The resort is not far from Las Americas and Los Cristianos, which we both visited. There is a choice of bars, cafe's and shops in the area, but it is not the biggest of places. We never used the hotel restuarant, we usually ate out
and come back for the evening entertainment. The good thing was that at 12am, they stopped the shows and made sure that everyone quietened down, which was very considerate.

Overall, a good place to stay, great facilities and a friendly environment. I'd recommend it and I would probably go back there. They do offer free holidays there but then try and talk you into buying into the time-shares. We said no as we couldn't afford it but still enjoyed the holiday.
