Advantages: Very central, not too expensive
Disadvantages: No extras, just breakfast
Near the Eiffel Tower and Invalides you will find the Hotel Prince. We visited Paris at Easter and had a good stay there. It is a straighforward little 3 star hotel. Nothing special but not at all bad. It is about: - 5 minutes from the Champ de Mars (nice for evening walks) - 10 minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower (useful for getting there early and beating the queues) - 10 minutes walk from Invalides - 15 minutes walk from the Seine (and the Bateaux Mouches) - 2 minutes from a Metro Station (Ecole Militaire) - 2 minutes from a Supermarket (just beside the Metro station -- helps keep your costs down) - Lots of eating all around - 10-15 minutes walk from Pizza Hut and McDonalds for those who want their fast food - There is lots of parking just around the corner at the top of the Champs de Mars (cost about ten pounds a day). This is not to be sneezed at in central Paris! Rooms are small but have fridges and TVs. They do not have any coffee-making facilities. Prices go out of date, so here is their web-site: http://www.hotelsparis.co.uk/HotelPrince.htm (It can also be booked as part of a package through some of the main City-break holiday opertors)

- 10/12/00 Thanks for the recommendation. We often visit Paris and have tried several different hotels. Next time perhaps we will try this one. |
