Advantages: nice quite location
Disadvantages: may be in need of a makeover
The princess hotel group have hotels all around the world. They are usually of high standards and have 4-5 star rating.
The one I have stayed in is the Hotel Jandia Princess Fuerteventura.
Cost can vary, the first year we had a Platinum Special deal for two adults in September, one week £600. The second a special family holiday booked in advance which upped the cost to £650 per person.
The hotel is 6km from Jandia town, the bus stop is 15m up the road.
Jandia is classed as the German section, as most English people tend to stay in Corralejo or Costa Caleta, the later is too busy for me.
It is 80km from the airport and takes 40 Min's by car or an hour by coach. The hotel has parking at the rear.
As a family we have stayed at the Fuerteventura Princess a few times. I love fuerteventura, it is still unspoilt and although on first inspection it resembles somewhere on the moon, it has the most fantastic silver sanded beaches, which are breath takingly beatiful.
We first visited in 2002 the hotel was classed as a 4star rating. We were so impressed, we would have given it a 5 star rating. The staff were wonderful very friendly and helpful. The food which was buffet style was excellent and varied and just about catered for everyone's tastes. The rooms were of a very good size , clean and the views excellent, our room overlooked the pool and sea.
The entertainment was good the usual flamenco dancers. Singers and magicians. It is very easy to travel from the hotel to Jandia by bus, costs a few pence. It has a market and a good selection of shops. The hotel has a shop, but just like most hotels it can be expensive.
The hotel is set high up and you need to be able to walk down, to the beach, I would not say it is handicapped accessible, unless you like a bit of danger.
The dinning rooms are light and airy and each has adequate seating although if you want to sit on the terrace you need to be early or dine late as it gets full very quickly.
The four pools are a good size and laid out with plants to look attractive. We go in September, it is still very hot and you should try to find a spot with some shade, its very easy to burn. Sunbeds are amble and we have never had he usual problems.
Sunbeds on the beach have a charge only a few euro, but you need to remember to take some money with you. There is a cafe on the beach if you want drinks or lunch.
We revisited this hotel last year and we were not so impressed. Our room was facing the road, at the back of the hotel. The rubbish bin right in front of our door. The hotel was full and we were unable to move, so that spoilt it for me, also they had building work going on, which we were not told about.
The entertainment was of less calibre, the meals were repetitive and followed the same pattern. The hotel was in need of a makeover which in all fairness it may well have had since last year.
On the plus side the staff are still the same, very friendly and love children so if I can get a cheap deal this year it will not put me off.

- 20/04/09 Apparently, I had placed it in the reviews for Princess chain hotels which I thought correct. To avoid confusion it is now being moved to hotels in Fuerteventura. |

- 20/04/09 Let me know when it's in the correct place, and I can rate it. |

- 19/04/09 It hasn't upset me at all - I am trying to help you. Some members might find this review "Not Useful" given its for a completely different hotel in a completely different country however. |
