The Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan is considered one of the best in town, if not the best. Having previously stayed at the 4 Seasons in Milan and the Hilton, I can say thta compared to the Hilton, the Principe is much worse value for money (Hilton is lower quality, but much cheaper) and compared to 4 Seasons, for the same money, again, you get much more at 4 Seasons. At 377 Euros per night, Principe does not come cheap. I was given a room with an old air conditioning system, while the 2 other people I travelled with, had slightly better rooms. The bathrooms are impressive, I must admit, all in marble, with a huge mirror and good ...

The Principe di Savoia is Milan's most highly regarded hotel. It is located on Piazza della Repubblica, essentially a short stroll from the financial and the shopping areas. Its five-star comfort and impeccable service made me feel I was living a dream. The hotel offers about 400 rooms and the most modern I stayed there last October or November (2000), at the same time as Queen Elizabeth. I am sure the Queen had a room much nicer than mine, but I was truly swept away by the classy and comfortable interiors, the gentle lighting, the modern phones/dataport/etc that is sinonimous to US hotels.
