An overrated Hotel business people beware! (Principe Di Savoia)

The Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan is considered one of the best in town, if not the best.

Having previously stayed at the 4 Seasons in Milan and the Hilton, I can say thta compared to the Hilton, the Principe is much worse value for money (Hilton is lower quality, but much cheaper) and compared to 4 Seasons, for the same money, again, you get much more at 4 Seasons.

At 377 Euros per night, Principe does not come cheap.

I was given a room with an old air conditioning system, while the 2 other people I travelled with, had slightly better rooms.

The bathrooms are impressive, I must admit, all in marble, with a huge mirror and good light.

The bed was large and hard the right bit, but it was a bit funny I had to go to the wardrobe and get one blanket there because the air conditioning system was too noisy.

Staff are ready to assist you, but very formal, something I do not like.

The Hotel is located in Piazza repubblica, a large square with nothing relevant around, apart from the station. If you feel walking a bit at night, the gardens in front of the Hotel are fine, but very small, otherwise, you take a taxi and in 10 minutes you are in front of Duomo, the centre of Milan.

Overall, based on the fact it is very expensive, I would not recommend this Hotel if you pay with yourmoney. However, it is part of the Starwood group, and you get points for staying there, if your company pays, it may be worth checking in only for this reason.
