Advantages: Not far to go for some rest and relaxation

Disadvantages: Food was a bit samey by the middle of the holiday

A great family resort to visit. Myself, my husband, and my parents in law took my son (19 months) to this four star resort in Spain just a few weeks ago.

Flight:
We flew from Gatwick airport and the short 2 hr journey was just enough for my young son to manage.

Palma Airport:
We arrived quite late in the evening and the airport was quite stuffy (seemed to be no air-con). Or was that because it was warmer than the weather we had left behind in the UK? Signs directed us to baggage collection and to the exit where we met a Thompson rep who directed us to teh correct coach for us.

Palma to Hotel:
Journey was about an hour, coach was comfortable and new.

Check in:
Needed to show the passports for all members of the party to reception in order to check in.

Apartment:
The apartment was small but comfortable. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with two settes/beds in the main living area. A cot was provided for my son and this was comfortable. In the partment was a kitchenette area with small fridge freezer, cupbaords, a two ring hob and cooking utensils. BOth windows had black-out blinds. The main living space also had a table and chairs, TV, safe and the french doos led out onto a blacony where there was garden table and chairs, broom and dustpan. The bathroom had shower and bath. The housekeeper visited most days (Tues and Thurs were days off) and the towels were replace, beds made, apartment and balcony cleaned.

Food:
We were all inclusive and there were meals/snacks available from about 8am until midnight. The main buffet restaurants had both continental and brit cuisine along with some very unusual things for breakfast - bolied carrots, onion rings? Cereals, toast, doughnuts, fruit all available. Lunchtime and evening menus had some dishes that were the same throughout the week, varities of meat, chips, some veg (though not much choice), salads and meats, plus extra bits and pieces throughout the week, cottage pie, fish dishes, chinese evening. Children's food was ok to, just take your pick from wht is available there, nuggets, sausages etc, there was no problem finding something for my son to eat (it just wasn't as healthy as it would have been at home). Also there was a grill that had food serving at lunchtime, burgers, sausages, kebabs and then closed to be changed around for cakes and snacks later on in the afternoon. We never had any problems getting a seat in any restaurant. You can also book up to go to one of the themed restaurants in the evening - Italian, med, Grill. The ones we went to were very nice. These do get booked up quickly so make sure you do this on arrival. ONly down side was that sometimes the food was not as warm as it could have been.

Swimming pools:
Lots of! Large pools, 3 seperate children's pools, easy access.

Seaside:
Short walk past some local shops. Lovely sandy beach and cool water. Rock pools also good fun. Sandcastles a plenty!

Shops:
2 right outside the hotel where you can buy essentials, water, milk if you have a little one, etc.

Activities:
Plenty of hotel activities going on, water games, exercise classes organised. Also mini golf on the hotel site (large one) lots of fun and free if on all inclusive. Driving range, playgrounds, local water park (for extra charge) has a couple of waterslides. Also nearby is a Spa, with sauna, steam room, turkish spa - fab! This is free to all inclusive people, for 3 hrs per day. Massages avilable at an extra price at the Spa.

Entertainment:
Children's entertainers were fab! Disco each evening with the hotel songs and dances, by the end of the week my son was having a wonderful time joining in with the dancing and singing. Activities for children throughout the day as well as children's club where children can go without parents (my son was too young for this so can't comment on how good it was). Adult entertainment after the children's had finsihed varied, some nights external entertainers came to hotel (singers, acrobatics, band), other nights the hotel entertainers sang and acted. It was entertaining.

Overall:
We had a fab time and we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves as a family.

Summary: Sun, sea, sand and sangria - ahhhh, bliss!
