Radisson SAS Hotel Basel

We stayed here for 2 nights over my birthday weekend. The hotel was well located (although I did worry that it was in a red light area when we first arrived...few dodgy shops on the street). We had a problem at checkin, I had booked through an online hotel booking system and had paid for the room in full when we booked, they didn't have this information and insisted that payment was on checkout, luckily I was able to log on to my internet bank in their business centre and print out proof...They were really lovely about it and they spoke to someone in their head office to get it confirmed. A typical large chain hotel. Claims 4 stars, and is worth it. Right dead in the centre, with trams outside, shops and restaurants in abundance within a minute's walk. I have stayed only once, so have seen only one room, a "superior" room I believe. Comfortable, quiet, not small, everything worked (no, really, even the lights and the remote control!), and it was immaculate. The whole hotel was immaculate in fact - it would be difficult to find anything to complain about, assuming you are happy with a characterless large place of course.
