A typical large chain hotel. Claims 4 stars, and is worth it.

Right dead in the centre, with trams outside, shops and restaurants in abundance within a minute's walk.

I have stayed only once, so have seen only one room, a "superior" room I believe. Comfortable, quiet, not small, everything worked (no, really, even the lights and the remote control!), and it was immaculate. The whole hotel was immaculate in fact - it would be difficult to find anything to complain about, assuming you are happy with a characterless large place of course.

Even the staff were friendly (with the notable exception of the dour and impolite lady running the restaurant one evening, but don't let her put you off).

The only strange thing was the billing. When I queried why I had been charged every day for pool club membership (yes, there is a swimming pool, and no I did not use it) I was told it was really City tax - OK, I suppose, but then why print it on the bill as City tax at 0% Very strange... I think the management realised as much, and they sent to my room a fruit plate, which was very sweet of them and not entirely necessary, but a nice gesture.

Oh, and the breakfast was great. Everything you expect in a German hotel plus a few Swiss additions.

I give it four stars out of 5 not becuase there is anything especailly wrong, but because it is so boring and characterless. But no problem coming back here.
