Fantastic hotel with lovely staff (Riu Merengue Clubhotel)

I have been to this hotel twice and both times I have loved it. This hotel is rated as a 4* hotel in the brochures but when you get there it is rated as a 5* hotel and it is obvious to see why.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the friendly staff and offered refreshing cocktails. Then the bell boys will take your bags for you. Dominicans do not have a lot of money so they are very grateful of a 1$ tip although they do not expect it.

ROOMS: The rooms are clean and large with plenty of space. They are bright and tend to have 2 double or king size bads. Rooms also have a mini fridge which is restocked every day and free optics.

POOL: Very large and you can use the two sister hotels which are also amazing.

STAFF: The entertainment team are great and work really hard. Also, all of the bar staff are really nice and if you tip them a dollar they will serve you straight away.

FOOD: Plenty of choice at the buffetss. Lots of different meats and seafoods. Also the a la cartes are brilliant. You can also use the sister hotels restaurants for breakfast and lunch but not for your evening meal. All restaurants are great. If you go to the night club there is a snack bar until 3am which is also great with plenty of choice given the time!

BEACH: lovely white sands. water is clear and ideal for snorkelling. Large range of complimentary watersports too.

NIGHTLIFE: Amazings shows, especially the grease show. Lots of bars to choose from. Entertainment staff are brilliant. Amazing pacha nightclub with free drinks as part of your all inclusive.

Summary: would definitely recommend for families
