Magic hotel in the fast city of Toronto. (Royal York)

Advantages: Excellent service, Excellent location

Disadvantages: Slightly pricey food and drink.

I first saw this hotel in the thomas cook signature America and Canada brochure and i thought it looked very elegant.
I decided to book a holiday to Toronto and this was my first choice.
Upon arriving at the hotel, the size of the building took me by surprise. It is a very old, victorian looking exterior but with a grand majestic feel.
Upon entering the lobby for check in, it takes your breath away. It is one of the biggest most grandest lobby's i have ever seen. It is quite dark but has a wooden, victorian feel with very large sofas and chairs and a huge stairway leading down to a foyer of shops, bars and delis which in turn leads out onto the street.
The staff are absoultely faultless. The attention and service is ammaculate.
We wanted to book a show one evening and we didnt know how to find the theatre. The lady at conceirge was more than happy to book us tickets and draw us a map and she wouldnt even accept the tip!!! Thats is rare!!!!
We had a fantastic holiday.
The rooms are very spacious and are cleaned every day. The view from the room is excellent - ours looking over lake ontario.
The food and drink is slightly pricey but this is a 5 star hotel which has accomodated our queen of England. There are pictures of the Queen from when she stayed here.
Overall, i would recommend this as a wonderful hotel for anyone with easy access for wheelchairs and the service is second to none.
