Disadvantages: .
The Samba Hotel is located in the heart of Lloret De Mar in sunny Spain. This was my hotel that I stayed in during my recent one week break.
Basics:
The hotel was clean and well organised. Even with 500 odd people there our three rooms were within 20 metres of each other which I was very surprised about! A cleaner cam daily and the sheets and the towels were changed 4 times during our week long stay.
The Room:
The rooms were very basic but that was to be expected as the holiday was very cheap. It came with en-suite, 1 wardbrobe and three beds... Fitting tightly into the smallest room possible. The room also had a balcony and free air conditioning as standard which was amazing! Although this area was simle and to be honest, rubbish, I did not mind as the plan was to be in the room as little as possible.
The pool:
The hotel has a huge pool surrounded by sun beds. The bad thing was they closed the pool at 7pm to clean it- the good thing was it did not open until 10am so tose annoying German's can not steal early sunbeds!!
All inclusive:
Drinks were simple. House beer, house spirit and a bunch of mixers. This got boring drinking the same thing over and over but with all inclusive you did get a dicount on other drinks- cocktails were 3euros instead of 5 for example.
The food:
This was my biggest concern before I went. The last thing we all needed was to have crap food and end up eaten out every night- turning our cheap holiday into an expensive one! But we were amazed the food was great! Expect the same thing at breakfast as you would get anywhere in Europe. Lunch was probably a little dissapointing but there was always enough to fill your plate. And at dinner the choice was great- most tasted really good but there food did tend to be a little greasy and salty. While we were there they had a chinese night and an italian night which were bonuses!
The location:
The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the smaller quieter beach and about 20 minutes from the main one. To get to the main one you have to walk through the strip (talked about in my Lloret De Mar review). In and around the hotel there are plenty of restaurants and a local supermarket only 2 minutes away. The bus station is also 10 minutes away for those wishing to go to the water park or for the day drip to Barcelona!
All in all the hotel is great! I paid £260 for a week all inclusive including flights! While out there I had an amazing time and only spent £100 more! Cheap and very very cheerful!!
