Advantages: stunning locations

Disadvantages: average food

I went here on my honeymoon, the price was roughly 3k for a week all inclusive for the both of us. We chose this resort as it was not too near the airport as my hubby is always conscious of air noise and it looked like quite a pretty hotel.
The hotel itself was quite large and had a variety of suites. We stayed in a standard one which included a bath and a super kingsize bed. All rooms as could be expected included air conditoning and room service came once a day.

There were two pools in the hotel the larger noisey active pool, which if you sat by you pretty much were expected to join in ( generally all the americans were here) OR the smaller but still large enough quiet pool where you would not be bothered. This was largely frequented by the British. Both pools had a swim up pool bar however its fair to say that if you ever wanted a cocktail you pretty much always got the same thing as there was no menu! There was also a snack bar which was yummy and basically considered of popcorn, nachos and hotdogs.

For lunch it was basically a BBQ buffet or a general buffet. This was very scrummy though with a really large selection of hot and cold food.

For dinner there was the choice of oriental, italion, gourmet silver service and finally a local cuisine type one. Now this is really where Sandals lets it self down BIGTIME! The italian was like something out of the sainsburys ready meal freezer department. The Gourmet was anything but- my pork medallions were chewy pork chops. The oriental although enterntaining as it was vooked in front of you- was nothing special or remarkable. The food for dinner i'm afraid in very many ways seemed to cater for people with very low food expectations which for the price of the holiday seemed surpising.

However there was one area well Sandals excelled with food and this was at breakfast. The breakfast was a buffet and lovely. The choice was everything you could imagine and more from pancakes and waffles to kedigree and sausages to fresh watermelon!

The other annoyance about this holiday was excursions. Myself and my husband ended up going on none as all were so americanised with "enforced fun" where you had to join in with singing/races and things like this. Maybe we are just uptight brits but this wasn't for us!

This is a lovely location though and the beach is stunning. It is good too the way that tips are included in the price so you do not have to worry about this whatsoever.

So would I go on a Sandals holiday again?

NO WAY.

The food for the price is average. You are paying for the name and thats about it. Go to another hotel you will get far more for your money!

Summary: You'll only do it once!
