Newest Review: ... see the lake and mountains but I had a not so good view of the generators as well. Checking in time at the hotel is ... more  ... officially 3pm but I arrived a couple of hours earlier than this and my room was ready. The check in was swift, as was check out three days later and indeed I never saw anybody waiting for attention at the reception desk.
I was not offered any assistance with my bags after I checked in but was sent on a complicated journey of up one lift, along a corridor, round a corner and then up another lift. It was a finance conference organized by my Swiss parent company that brought me to Lucerne last week. The Hotel Schweizerhof was chosen by the organizers on account of its conference facilities and because it was able to accommodate most of the 80 delegates for three nights. There is no airport in Lucerne and so I traveled by train from Zurich airport. Despite having traveled overnight from Bermuda, I was quite happy with this arrangement as I have experience of the Swiss train service and know it works like clockwork.
