Advantages: Good Location, clean rooms, good bar, free wifi in lobby

Disadvantages: In need of renovation, don't take a room with adjoining door

My husband & I stayed at the Sheraton Brussels for 3 nights in June. We had booked the hotel through Hotwire using vouchers.

The hotel was really easy to find and is almost directly opposite the Rogier metro station. The building is a 30 odd storey tower made of concrete, the outside isn't particularly attractive, however once inside the lobby / reception area the decor is very nice.

Our room, on the 7th floor, was very basic. The bed was a king-size, there was a TV (which we didn't use), a sofa, desk and built in wardrobes. The room was obviously very dated, however it was clean and comfortable. It appeared that the bathroom had been renovated recently. The overhead shower in the bath was extremely powerful and very refreshing, given that the outside temperature was 30 degrees centigrade. The air conditioning in the room was by the sofa. It was effective if sat close to it, however the bed was over the other side of the room, meaning that at night it could get rather warm.

Unfortunately our room had an adjoining door, and although the people next door weren't exceptionally loud, everything they did could be heard. This wasn't ideal when the TV went on at 6.30 in the morning.

The hotel has free wi-fi in the lobby, however this doesn't extend to the bar, which would have been useful. We didn't eat at the restaurant as the prices were rather expensive. The pool on the roof was very nice, towels are provided and there is a terrace running around the outside of the building offering great views of Brussels as well as sunbathing facilities.

The hotel is conveniently located for all the sites in Brussels. Grand Place is a 10 minute walk. European parliament is about 20 mins away. However the metro station is opposite.

We booked the hotel via Hotwire, which offered a very reasonable rate of $69 per room per night. However if I had paid the full price for the hotel I would have been disappointed, as the room was dated and the adjoining room meant it was rather noisy.

I understand from Tripadvisor that they are currently in the process of renovating all the rooms, in which case if the rates stay the same this hotel would be a good place to stay.

Summary: Good hotel, conveniently located, clean but in need of some renovating.
