Advantages: Superb views, excellent standard of accommodation

Disadvantages: Premium rates for the best rooms!

I stayed at the Sheraton Fallsview following a week in a rather swankey hotel in central Toronto. I thought that one couldn't be beaten, but on arrival in Niagara I knew I was wrong.

After driving past central Niagara, where to be honest, everything looks a little run down, the grandieur of this hotel at first sight cannot fail to impress.

We were speedily checked in by courteous and cheerful staff and allocated a 'garden view' room as we had not paid the upgrade to a 'Falls View' room.

The bedrooms were immaculate and cleaned to a high standard, and I cannot find anything to complain about regarding the hotel. The meals in the restaurant weren't really value for money, but venture outside any the choice is endless!

The location is superb. The bar terrace (which Superman jumped off one his films) give a wonderful unobstructed view directly on top of the larger Canadian falls. We watched the firework display from this terrace which I would highly recommend!!

My only regret is that we did not pay the extra for the Falls View room. To wake up to that view in a morning must be spectacular. If I was to get the opportunity to return, I would stay in this hotel without question.

Summary: Superb hotel in the best spot in Niagara!
