I went back to spain this summer and stayed in the Guadalupe Hotel; I have to say i was impressed! Having worked in the area over summers I have been in the vast majority of the local hotels if only to use their sunbeds (!) and i booked the guadalupe with some trepidation, it is known to be anti-english, full of german holidaymakers who (for very sensible reasons!) dont like and complain about the typical magaluf holiday maker - this year, all changed!! They seem to have gone more upmarket and trendy - the entire pool has been rebuilt and it is now wide, slopping and has lovely wooden sun loungers and best of all, bans lilos in the adult pool... the kids pool is fun ... I stopped in the Sol Guadalupe Hotel in Magaluf with a mate during June 2008. We arrived at the hotel during the early hours of the morning, and were very quickly checked in and given key cards to allow us to get in to our room. The room we were given was on the 8th floor, so it was a good job that the hotel had fast lifts! We were impressed by the room, it was clean, quite spacious and had a good balcony. The bathroom could not be complained about either, though we did have a problem with the shower that was quickly fixed by the staff when reported. Food in the hotel was very nice. It was probably in about 1970 something that my mum discovered the Guadalupe Sol hotel. This was a long time before I was actually born...in the early 80's. Her and her friends used to go out there, partying, soaking up the gorgeous sun and enjoying the general atmosphere that Majorca and this hotel had to offer. In the late 1970's, my mum met my dad and then instead of her and her friends going, her and my dad went together, as a couple. They went for a few years before my mum became pregnant with me.
