During my stay I never saw anyone sitting there waiting for people to come in and book.
A glass elevator takes you to your floor and I was pleasantly surprised how much light flooded the floors. This is due to the glass ceiling and the open plan areas that let all the light in. The rooms are located around these bright areas.

This is a hotel only review and will not cover local sights, restaurants, shopping or nightlife. The fairly new 230 room Sol Pirámide Hotel - it opened in 2002 - in Salou is part of Spanish Sol Meliá group of hotels and resorts. The group own and run many hotels around the world. The "Sol" hotels in the group seem to cater more for the budget conscious traveller and often provide the cheapest room rates within the group of hotels. I came across the Sol Pirámide on websites offering cheap room rates and decided to check the hotel's own website for more information.
