Advantages: great location
Disadvantages: old decor
Sol Timor apart hotel
I have just come home from a four night stay in these apartments and I absolutely loved them. The Sol Timor apartments are located in Torremolinos in the Costa del Sol and it was the best location that you could ask for you just have to walk a few meters out of the back of the hotel and you are on the beach and less than a five minute walk away is Belmadema which is where all the bars and restaurants are and also where you can take different boat trips.
Booking the trip
I booked this trip as a cheap break with my cousin for her birthday and choose these apartments purely on the price. After searching the internet we ended up choosing these apartments on alpha rooms and it cost us £214 for four nights each including flights and accommodation. We found that this was the best value for money considering that it was advertised as central and it was a 3star rating which I was pleased by both and thought it truly deserved it's 3 star rating even though the decor was a bit dated.
Arriving
When I was driving from the airport to the hotel I was relieved when we were told us that it was our hotel because we pasted a few dodgy ones before we came from ours. Checking in was easy and the staff were nice and helpful all you had to do was fill in a form and you got your room key. The reception is decorated quite dull but I can't complain about the staff they showed us how to get down to our room. We were in the part of the building where you had to walk down a few stairs with our suitcases but there weren't that many so it didn't bother me. The lifts to our rooms were quite old but large enough for me and my cousin and two suitcases to travel up to our room and we had no bother with it during our whole stay.
Rooms
We stayed in a twin room again the decor was dated but it was extremely clean and spacious. As you walked through the door there was a wardrobe which was large enough for two people but I never unpacked as I was only there for a four nights. The bathroom was clean and had a bath with shower, sink and toilet there was always hot water and the maids always left enough toilet roll. There were two single beds with a coffee table in the middle with a table and two chairs in the main part of the apartments. The beds I found were slightly too hard but it's all to matter of taste because some people like a harder mattress but I'm just used to a softer one at home but I didn't find it too hard to sleep. The kitchen was small but we never cooked I only used it for the fridge for my water.
Facilities
These apartments have got a theme of the Flintstones which is fun for the kids. There is a souvenir shop, grocery shop which isn't too badly priced except if you are buying non Spanish brands. There is a park for the kids and a swimming pool including a shallow pool for the kids which always looked clean but I didn't use because I was out and about . There is also a hairdresser for the adults if they want a bit of pampering. There were two restaurants one was a buffet and the other was called Betty's Kitchen although I never ate in the hotel because I always went down to Belmadema which was only a few minutes' walk away.
Overall
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a budget hotel which is clean, good location and is children friendly I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would stay here again if I were to go back to Costa del Sol.
Summary: great value for money
