The rooms were spacious and they offered a triple room which was exceptional as there were only three of us, and making us pay for two twin rooms would've been evil. On our recent trip to Rome, we stayed at Star Hotels Michaelangelo (4 stars), which was right outside the Vatican, a few minutes' walk away from St Peters Basilica. It is in a rather quiet residential district, with a few souvenir shops and restaurants nearby, and a supermarket about 10 minutes away. In this way, it is calm and not at all busy; in fact rather deserted in the nearby streets! Upon arriving, the rather attractive receptionist sorted out our room within ten minutes and gave us the key- A small metal key with a bulky and heavy key chain (or some sort of unnecessary ornament) that made it weigh like 2 kilograms. Hotel Podere La Cerreta (Sassetta, Italy) - Wonderful scenery. Quality of food was fantastic. Away from it all. No choice of food. Rooms are basic with no TV. Marauding farm dogs.
