Predictably enough, a questionnaire - or rather, a "30 second Quality Quiz" - is to be found in the bedrooms of the Statler Hotel at Cornell University, inviting guests to tick boxes about their stay. Predictably enough, the management of the hotel want to know if the experience has exceeded your expectations. Let me admit that, perhaps pedantically, I am irritated by the cliché of "exceeding expectations", and doubt its value as a measure of satisfaction.
