Advantages: Lovely rooms, friendly staff and on the whole good food.
Disadvantages: Situated in a quiet area so it may not suit everyone
The Taurito Princess Hotel is situated in Playa de Taurito, Gran Canaria and is actually adjacent to the cliffs meaning every room gets the benefit of a lovely sea view. My friend and I stayed here late in the year and found the Taurito Princess to be one of the best all inclusive hotels we have stayed in.
Check in was very quick and easy and we were issued with a bright coloured band so we could take advantage of the all inclusive amenities. The staff were very polite and helpful even giving us directions to our room.
The rooms were very clean and well decorated, we had a double bed each. The beds were very comfy and I always slept well. Even though the room had two big beds it didn't feel small. The bathroom was a nice size and the shower was quite powerful which surprised me. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels left.
One warning I have to give is regarding the lift. When you get half way up the hotel the lift goes out into the open. With me being afraid of heights every time we went up to our room I found myself stepping as far away from the glass as possible . Obviously if you are in the lower half of the hotel this won't affect you. I would recommend going up just once though to see the view.
The area is a bit on the quiet side so definitely don't go to this hotel if you want an amazing nightlife. There is entertainment on nightly which is the same as what you find in most hotels.
They also have various bars within the hotel.
Which are:
Bar Cocoloco which is situated in the middle of the pool.
Piano Bar where there is live music every evening until 11pm.
The Princess Lounge which is where most of the entertainment takes place they also have a disco here too.
La Choza which is just a takeaway snack bar this is open during the day until 6pm.
Before we ate our evening meal we tended to go for a drink in the piano bar it was nice and chilled out in there.
The all inclusive beverages were available until 11pm which is pretty normal for all inclusive hotels. On offer was locally produced alcohol and soft drinks.
The food was very good at breakfast there was always a good selection of fresh fruit, yogurts and of course a cooked breakfast. The drinks on offer were the usual juices, tea and coffee.
Lunch had a lot of choice too including fresh meat, vegetables, salads, rice oh and chips. The desserts were also good including ice cream and various mini cakes.
The evening meal consisted of meat from the carvery, rice, salads, vegetables, chips again. To be quite honest I preferred to eat more at lunch as I felt it was fresher than in the evening. It was only the odd item but could still be off putting.
On the whole I would say this is one of the better all inclusive hotels. Previously I have stayed in all inclusive hotels and I suspect the majority of the food in the evening was leftover from lunch.
The drinks available at lunch and the evening meal consisted of white and red wine, soft drinks and water.
On certain days they had themed nights in the restaurant eg Mexican, Italian.
There are various activities available during the day one of which is water polo. I didn't take part so I can't really comment. I prefer to laze around on my holiday! If you do like activities there are tennis and squash courts, ping pong table and a snooker table but you do have to pay for a game of snooker. For those missing tv there is a television lounge.
There is a beach literally next to the hotel but the pool was so nice we never went in the sea, it was nice to walk along the beach though for a change.
I would stay here again but it would probably be with my husband as the area was a little quiet for my friend. We did both agree however that it was the most relaxing holiday we had ever taken. So if a relaxing holiday is in order I would have to suggest this hotel.
Summary: The Taurito Princess, definitely a four star!
