I haven't stayed at The Haven as I have my own condo in Pattaya. But I am a regular customer at their restaurant which I highly recommend. Whether it be western food, Thai food or even Mexican food you won't be disappointed. The staff is so nice I'd go there even if I didn't like the food. It's a very friendly atmosphere, they really make you feel right at home.
One of the best ways to judge an establishment is by their customers, are they all first timers or are there many repeat customers. I've been eating there for years and many of the people that I meet there are repeat customers, both in the restaurant and as hotel guests. Many of the hotel guests have been coming there for years and when they leave they make reservations for their next trip. I think that is the best recommendation that you will find anywhere.
As I mentioned I've never stayed at The Haven but I did get to tour the rooms just as they were completing the renovations and I must say they did a very nice job, the rooms are beautiful. It wasn't just a paint job, the rooms were completely renovated to a very high level.
So give it a try next time you visit Pattaya, you won't be disappointed.
SORRY THIS SHOULD BE IN THE PATTAYA HOTELS CATEGORY my mistake. Haven Hotel Pattaya www.thehaven-hotel.com I visited Pattaya in Jan 2001. I can't say I liked it, not being a golfer. As to the night life ? Well if you like it brash fine. It's not my scene. However that doesn't mean that there are not good and bad hotels. The Haven Hotel is well positioned up a reasonably quiet Soi about 100 yards from Beach Road and about 3/4 mile from Walking Street. The rooms are very good and well equiped with TV and CD / DVD players. Avoid Room 111, mine, it has no view. The others look over a courtyard with small swimming pool. The open air restaurant come bar is reasonably priced. There is a large air con restaurant but it was quiet when I was there. The hotel keeps tanks of fish, lobsters and crabs so if you like seafood it's for you. Golf and Golfers seemed to predominate so if your a seafood loving golfer its certainly the place for you. When you come out of the hotel and turn left you go down to Beech Road with nearby ATMs and Bureau de Change plus plenty of shops selling all the T shirts, Fake watches, Knives etc. you want. Some reasonable Beer Bars nearby. Turn Right and a 100 yards takes you to the main street. Just opposite is a good internet cafe and travel agent. Price in mid January £11.00 per night which for such a weell equipped modern hotel I thought was good. Stay a week or longer and you will get a discount. Well worth a look.
