The Ice Hotel (Jukkasjärvi, Sweden)

If you've never been to the Ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi then you are missing out on one of the greatest experiences you can ever have in the freezing cold. We flew from Leeds Bradford to Copenhagen, then to Stockholm then to Karuna. It was a roundabout way of getting there due to weather conditions, the original flight was supposed to be LBR to Stockholm and then Karuna. A 30 minute coach trip to the hotel is provided and on arrival you are amazed at the sheer beauty of the complex. I have just returned from an amazing holiday in Finnish Lapland. During my week there I took a day trip across the frozen wilderness to visit the tiny Sami village of Jukkasjarvi in northern Sweden, 200 km north of the artic circle. Why? Because Jukkasjarvi is home to a hotel made entirely from ice and snow. I had read about this hotel and seen it featured on a holiday programme and was really keen to see it for myself.
