My family and i spent one week during the october half term of last year in dubai's Jumairah Beach hotel...and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. the hotel itself is but a 20 minute drive from dubai's international airport, situated right along the coast with its own private beach. the hotel itself is stunning, in the shape of a wave and is surrounded by the partner hotels-The Burj al Arab and the Madinat. the excellent facilities include three swimming pools- a chlorine, sea water and fresh water, and the another smaller, shallower pool for children with a water play area and morning daycare facilities. there is also the beach, spa, gym-with tennis courts and ... In 2003, my husband was lucky enough to win an award at work. The prize was a three night all-expenses-paid break at the beginning of October to the Jumeirah Beach hotel in Dubai for himself and a friend/partner. The trip didn’t start that well, with a seven-hour night flight from Heathrow with Emirates out of the always-crowded Terminal 2. Dubai is four hours ahead of the UK, so by the time we landed it was morning. We were directed out of the airport to a waiting white mini-bus, which was not exactly what I had expected from a five star hotel. Ever since the Jumeirah Beach Hotel opened we had intended to stay there when we eventually visited Dubai, but ironically it wasn't until another hotel, the Fairmont, opened in Dubai, that we made our reservation. What could be more perfect that a trip combining the Fairmont brand, always a fantastic choice and in our opinion the best hotel chain in the world and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, reputedly the 'best hotel in the world'. We booked our room for a three night staying January this year, through Airline Network in the UK, paying £200 for the room per night.
