A gem of a hotel in Montmartre (Timhotel Montmartre Paris)
Member Name: sarahfglasgow
Advantages: Location, price Disadvantages: Steep hills, decor in need of freshen up
I stayed in this hotel for the second time in Dec '08 and would recommend it as a base for a Paris visit. It's in a fantastic location in Montmarte on a very pretty little square where Picasso used to have his studio. The rooms are functional but not that big (Americans would probably be horrified!) - bathroom small but modern, TV, good wardrobe space. The hotel is a little bit in need of a freshen up, but this doesn't bother me because I'm out and about all day and hardly in the hotel. By reception, they have a breakfast area. 9 Euros for quite a basic breakfast, a much better idea is to go to the lovely bakery which is almost right next door to the hotel - they do huge pain aux raisons, croissants etc and takeaway coffee as well. It's about 100 Euros per night for a double or triple room, you can book quickly and easily on their website. Summary: Recommendation for a budget hotel in Paris |
