... problem I found was that having rung to provide my card details, they didn’t email me to confirm that the booking was made. I emailed them to request that they reply with this confirmation and a few days later as I had not heard from them, I rang again to ask them to do so. This could be construed as the Icelandic laid back attitude, or a more critical view would be that they are disorganised! ~~~Arrival~~~ The web site says that the bus from the airport will drop you off at the guest house. The Travel Inn Guesthouse in Reykjavik benefits from an excellent location and it is apparently very reasonable (difficult to be very accurate on this, see below for why), but I expect that there are nicer places to stay in the city and more reasonable, and maybe even both. The owner is very chatty and quite a character, but this probably doesn’t make up for poor value for money. Whilst our accommodation did not spoil our holiday, I think that in retrospect, with a bit more research we could have found somewhere a lot more reasonable that would have been a more pleasant place to stay. ~~~How we came to choose this guesthouse~~~ We know from experience of ...
