Advantages: cheap, cheerful and clean

Disadvantages: unisex bathrooms

I stayed in the Trio Hotel in Wroclaw when I went there for a short break last month. I picked Wroclaw in Poland as a cheap destination so I didn't want to spend a fortune on accomodation.

Most hotels I could find weren't that cheap and I didn't want to stay in a hostel in a dorm, we wanted a double room. There were double rooms in hostels for about £25 a night and that was the best price I could find on the internet until I came across this place.

Can you believe a double room costs just £15 a night! Bargain I'd say! There were pictures on the website and it looked basic but not shabby so I booked it. The only thing that bothered me was that the rooms weren't en suite and you had a shared bathroom on each floor.

When we arrived, the hotel was very much like a hostel. There was a modest reception and on each floor toilets, showers and a little kitchen. The rooms were very basic as I thought with two beds, a small table and two chairs but there was even a fridge and every room had a sink. I was impressed. It definately isn't luxery but clean, cheap and tidy.

There was a cleaner that seemed to work 26 hrs a day as she was always cleaning rooms and bathrooms so it was very clean and tidy even though the decor etc was basic.

It is most certainly worth the money and it has a bus stop and tram stop outside and trams run every 10 minutes into the centre. It's onlt a 5 minute walk to the main square anyway so perfect location.

The only complaint I have is that the bathrooms are unisex and while we were there a lot of men were staying. It seems to be popular with workmen stationed in the city and I felt a little uncomfortable going to the bathroom as all of the toilets had urinals which was a bit weird and I didnt want to catch anyone off guard. Other than that, great.

Summary: great if you want a cheap stay
