Advantages: great beaches, very safe, great to relax

Disadvantages: repetitious menu, no fresh water

We stayed at Tryp Cayo Coco Apr.27-May04/03. Well, let's put it this way: once you've been to other all inclusive places, you would rate this resort a 3*. The beaches and the water were absolutely gorgeos, better than any other in Cuba (I've been to Guardalavaca and Varadero). The resort is like "NO FRILLS". The rooms are fine, the service was ok, but they lack the extra touch. No bottled water at your discretion, you get one of 1.5l in your room and you must refill it from the bar. The 24hour snack bar sucks! The bartender is also the cook, so if you need to get a bite to eat late at night, you line up forever (in our case 45 min. with 8 people ahead of us, and by the time our turn came, there was no more food - at 11:30pm). If you love animals/birds/fish, this is the place to go to. They have a beautiful lagoon with 8 pink flamingos which are always fed by the tourists. They have a cute and adorable little cat that looks like a tiger, always hungry, so please by kind to it and feed it fish, chicken, etc. He will be your best friend. In the sea, if you bring some bread you can throw it around you and you will be surranded by beautiful tropical fish. The entertainment was the best. Anyway, all in all, it's not too bad. There were people that have been going there for years and love it.
It all depends what you're looking for.
