My husband & I have stayed at this resort 3 times now over the past 4 years & have loved it every time.
The first two occasions we stayed, we went as a family group. Ten of us in total, including children.
The rooms are spacious, not huge but enough room for 2 adults, 2 children. They were always clean & fresh towels were left every day if we asked. The housekeeping staff also made animals out of the towels which the kids were very impressed with. They also provide you with shampoo/shower gel & soap.
All the staff are friendly & polite. No matter what request you have, they will try to help in some way. I kept trying to find an excuse to ring down to reception, just to hear them say 'Have a magical day' when we'd finished the call.
The resort itself is very beautiful with lots of trees, shrubs, flowers etc. There are also a few sandy beaches around the large lake, although my husband did think it a shame that you can't actually swim in the lake : )
We took a boat ride on the lake, which was a lot of fun. One of our favourite times was around 8am when we would take a walk over to the food court, but stop on the bridge crossing the lake to watch the turtles swimming around.
The main pool which has recently been refurbished is great. They have a pirate ship in the young children's area which all the children love. The main pool also has 2 slides, one smaller slide & a larger slide on the other side of the pool. There is also a hot tub in the main pool area, although I always find it too hot over there to sit in one!
There are also 7 other smaller pools which are located in each of the different areas of the resort near to the rooms. These pools are a lot quieter than the main pool & are great if you just fancy a quiet day. We also found that when we got back from the parks late in the evening, these pools were usually empty so we could all have a late night dip before getting showered & in to bed.
The food area is sufficient. There is plenty of choice for those fussy eaters & loads of tables to sit down once you've bought your food. There is also a sit down restaurant if you want something a bit nicer for a special occasion. Some of the food is a little expensive, which is all down to them being convenient. If you don't want to eat on the resort there are plenty of other restaurants in Orlando that you can choose from.
The on site shop is handy for gifts & there is also a small section that sells toiletries & a few snacks. Great if you're fancying a bag of crisps or have run out of shampoo!
I definitely recommend this place. We've had 3 great holidays there, one being our honeymoon as we're not really into lying around on a beach for 2 weeks!!
We're going back to Orlando again next year & our first choice hotel is always this one. However, we have been offered a fantastic deal on another of the Disney hotels, so for once we are going to take a chance & try somewhere different. I'll be back with that review after the holiday.
Have a Magical Day : )
stayed here a couple of years ago for a week and had a great time. our room overlooked the lake and was right next to one of several pools throughout the resort. we had two huge beds and all the other usual provisions. The food court here is great value with a huge choice - we ate breakfast here every morning. There is also an area outside where you can eat next to the main pool. The decor and design is fantastic - very cheery!. resort is serviced by the disney shuttle bus service which operates every few minuntes going to all the disney theme parks and other resorts - this is a free service. There are several "beaches" throughout the resort and all have fantstic double hammocks which are great for spending the afternoon with a favourit book. you can also hire boats for the lake. a very relaxing spot right in the heart of Disney so never far from any of the parks
