... arrival i was greeted with somewhat dis-interested and unorganised reception staff, after a substantial wait to be checked in i found my room to be of a lesser standard than expected from reviews i had read and complementary items at a minumum in quantity and quality. Argyll Hotel (Glasgow) ... Argyll Hotel Location/Getting there This hotel isn t dead central in Glasgow as you have to walk for quite a while down Sauchiehall street but it is a great budget hotel to stay in if you are planning to go to the SECC.They even have maps to help you get from the hotel to the SECC and it only takes about 15 minutes to walk it. Reception/staff The hotel isn t that glamourous or anything but the staff are always very helpful and friendly. You get the feeling that they like their job which is nice instead of having a scowling member of staff. Station Hotel-Newcastle Initially my friend and i booked into a Travelodge but we decided very quickly that we needed another hotel and this is the one we ended up staying in. Location/Getting there This hotel is located right next to the train station which is fantastic,nothing worse than a long journey followed by having to find a hotel.There is loads of places to eat nearby,plenty to see and do.The bus station is also quite nearby and would take about 10 minutes to walk too. Travelodge Manchester Central Hotel ... stayed at this hotel for a one night stay after a night out as it was one of my friends birthday, he booked two rooms for us. Its about a 5 minute walk from the centre of town and its very close to the arndale shopping centre. Its about a 10minute walk from Piccadilly station. The hotel is located right by the manchester evening news arena so its also near victoria station. The hotel is based on about 6 floor and has two lifts, it also has a resturant located on the bottom floor, prices were decent, very good for a hotel resturant.
