... have visited Inverness a number of times now and when I go I usually stay at the Thistle hotel. The Thistle is a fairly well-located hotel that is either a 15-20 minutes walk or a 5 minute taxi ride from the city centre. Brighton House Hotel (Brighton) ... wife & I went to Brighton for a romantic weekend in October. The weather was not ideal but, Brighton House was a delightful place to stay - right in the middle of the city centre. Although I am often in Brighton on business, I do not know the nightlife well, so it was very handy to be so near it all and pointed in the right direction by the friendly staff Our "superior" room was luxurious and spacious with a super-sized bed, huge bay window and balcony overlooking Regency Square and the sea. Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa ... recently attended a hen weekend at Thornton Hall which made full use of the spa facilities as well as the restaurant and included an overnight stay. I have to say it was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in in this country and I would not hesitate to use it again. I paid £155 for a package which included lunch and a three course dinner (drinks not included), one night s accomodation and 2 spa treatments (a back/neck/shoulder massage and facial) plus my choice of either a manicure or pedicure (I went with a manicure). Croydon Park Hotel (Croydon) ... s been a tough time at work for my sister and recently she has been feeling particularly down. I ve also been needing to get away, so we decided to book ourselves a little weekend break just to have a change of scene. Both of us following the philosophy that to be a proper break we needed to stay somewhere comfortable and with things to do as winter is coming and we can t trust weather to be great, we decided to go for a hotel with leisure facilities.
