I used to live up in this beautiful country and when we had the chance me and my family used to always venture up to Aberdeen. Although the city is rather grotty, as I would call it, it has a great hotel. The Aberdeen Marriott.

It is placed just outside Aberdeen so that you are not totally in the heart of it. It is about 5 minutes from the city centre by car. It is on 1 floor but very spacious and has a great atmosphere. The first time that I went there I was amazed at how nice it appeared as I had not been to many hotels in the past. As you walk in you can immediately see the lounge area that looks very inviting and warm. It has a fire there so it feels very homely and Scottish. This was one of the first places that I wanted to go to but I was whisked by my parents to the room. The hotel room is pretty standard with a large bed and a colour TV. It has a very nice bathroom despite this.
The truly amazing thing about this hotel thought is that if you are lucky or if you ask, you can have a room that runs directly onto the pool so all you have to do is pull open the bay doors and your standing nest to a pool with a large gym over looking it. I found this totally amazing and wanted to jump straight in. The only problem with this is the noise but this didn't bother me too much. The buffet breakfast is included and is amazing value with so much to chose from.
I really recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Aberdeen.
