Advantages: First class

Disadvantages: Not as cheap as camping

The Annesley hotel on Newmarket Rd, Norwich, is one of the best hotels I've ever visited.
It is a large Georgian house set back from the road, and is beautifully maintained, it's appearance tells you immediately that it is a hotel of quality.

The atmosphere is friendly and the owners, Jill and David are welcoming and accommodating.

The bedrooms are comfortable and nicely equipped with every thing you need: tea and coffee, television, shower, iron and ironing board, trouser press, phone. The rooms are spotless as is the rest of the hotel.
The dining room is elegant with a large marble fireplace and antique furniture. The cuisine is superb and the waitress service second to none. The breakfast area is a new conservatory that is refreshingly light and airy and adorned with grape vines from the ceiling. Breakfast is as light or heavy as you want it. They will cater for most tastes and appetites.

In the evening, after a hard day, you can relax in the cosy bar in a comfortable armchair. The atmosphere is relaxed and gentle, and you always come away from The Annesley feeling pampered and renewed. I have been there several times and will do so again. The only drawback for some, may be the front bedrooms that face the main road. Passing traffic can disturb some, but apart from this, the hotel is great. A single room costs around £55. This includes breakfast and evening meal and is very good value considering the quality.

If in Norwich, stay at The Annesley. You won't regret it.
